Mark of the Fae: A Fated Mates Fae Romance (Shadow Court Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 142 ratings

I used to be normal. I ran a shop, watched trashy movies, and ate too much chocolate. But that all changed when a Fae king claimed me as his mate and whisked me off to his world.

Now what am I? A mortal in the Immortal Realm, that’s what. And, boy, do I
not fit in.

Everyone here thinks I’m weak. Everyone here thinks I’m some sort of gold-digger. And if that isn’t bad enough, war is about to break about between the Fae, a war that could mean the destruction not only of my new home, but of the mortal realm as well.

Somehow I’ve got to find a way to stop this war
and prove I’m worthy of being the Fae queen.
Because I won’t give him up. I’ll fight for my mate, no matter what it takes.

Mark of the Fae is a fated mates paranormal romance full of sexy Fae males, sizzling magic and searing passion. If you like your romance full of high-octane adventure, danger and spice then grab this book today! High heat level - recommended for over 18s only.

Asha and Raven have returned to the Shadow Court so Raven could get back to his responsibilities as King and introduce Asha as his mate. But they are met with turmoil within the court from the Seelie and the Unseelie fae as well as his court not wanting to accept a weakling of a human as his mate. Raven and Asha have an interesting and exciting time facing quite a few dangers and have some surprising twists thrown in along the way. Fun read

I found this too short and I wanted more. Raven and Asha arrive at
Raven's court, forces are assembling as some are unsure of their
King and his mortal Queen as the fight continues for them. Worth
    a read.

I would rate this a 2 star based on a few issues. However the plot is good enough to bump it up a bit. After reading the first book I figured I would try another based on that alone. This book is only 129 pages. More like a short story like the first book felt. There is little world and character building. The H and h are talking about how its always been this way with them, the few days they have know each other. Its worded as if they have been together for a long time. Or at least several months. This drove me crazy. Even with a mating bond. I think the story has potential if more is added. But some people like a quick read with no fluff so it may appeal to those who do.. So really my rating is 2.5.

This is the second book in this series. They must be read in order. Asha is now in the Summerlands. Everything is so different. No one thinks she deserves to be Raven’s mate or to be in the Summerlands. She is having to prove her self over and over again. Raven helps sometimes but that isn’t going to make people stop. Something is happening in the Summerlands. They must figure out what is happening and who is behind it. The master mind could be closer than they know. Can Asha find a way to save the fae world and the human one? Again, I felt for Asha. She never seems to catch a break. Raven does what he can but now that they are back he has so many duties to attend to as king. They must find a balance between duties and time with each other. Danger constantly coming at them doesn’t help. Great job K.J. Baker. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Holy cow! I didnt see that ending coming at all. For a good half hour after I finished the book I sat there completely baffled at that absolutely crazy plot twist. I didn't see it coming at all and I almost always see plot twists coming a mile away. Besides that the characters are developing nicely, we are learning more about raven, how his court works, and how the realm of faerie works aswell. Oh and their relationship is definitely heating up a lot in this book. Honestly I was nicely surprised at how much I enjoyed reading this and how I am sitting here needing to read the next one asap. Usually only books from amelia hutchins makes me crave the next but this author hit it out of the park for me. So do yourself a favor and pick up this series like yesterday.

In this second installment of the Shadow Court series, we find Asha trying to fit into the Fae world. Not many fans of the mortal turned insta-Queen, so she's got a lot of sucking up to do. Unfortunately for her, she's not real good at that.

I like that Asha is a bit of a bad ass, but at times it's corny or she ends up causing more trouble for her and Raven. There is a war on the horizon, one that has been building since the first book and looks like it will end with the third. While we got a glimpse into the Fae world and its innerworkings, we didn't get enough Raven and Asha time for me. There is a lot of bad guys, figuring out who is who and distractions like that taking away from them.

The book is well written and I am struggling to appreciate the storyline. Maybe because like Asha, I'm a smidge out of my realm, reading-wise. We are left with questions and still wondering what will happen to a mortal that winds up in the Fae world.

Another ride filled with intrigue and deceit. Raven and Asha navigates the snake infested court of the fae with questions of who to trust. Betrayals will be great but the cause to save all humanity is heating up. To think that a mortal, whom many look at as inconsequential would be the one to preserve their way of life and expose traitors in their midst, has all Fae looking at Asha with respect and awe. The battle is just beginning however and one can never tell just how far both Courts of Seelie and Unseelie will go to win the war. Can they be stopped before breaching the borders or tearing a veil to the human world?
